New health care services are on the way to the northern end of Henry County.
According to county officials, Piedmont Healthcare has signed a lease on 40,000 square feet of medical office space, part of county commissioner Bruce Holmes’ goal of making the Fairview area a medical hub. During a decade in office representing District 5, Holmes has worked to bring businesses to the area that would improve its standing as a health and wellness corridor.
“I’m super excited and grateful that Piedmont Healthcare continues to invest in north Henry County. When one of the largest and best healthcare systems in the country puts down a stake in a medically underserved community because of the need for quality patient care over profit, you know that you have a great community partner,” said Holmes. “Just a few months ago, we welcomed Piedmont Primary Care to the Nidus Mixed-Use Medical Campus with open arms. Today, Piedmont is placing a physician group for women in the new medical office building scheduled for construction in early summer. I want to sincerely thank both Nidus Development and Piedmont Healthcare for working together to bring much-needed quality healthcare to the citizens in North Henry and surrounding counties.”
Dr. Lily Henson, CEO of Piedmont Henry Hospital, seconded Holmes’ sentiments about the positive impact of expanded healthcare options in the region.
“We’re looking forward to the expansion of medical services in the area, potentially adding imaging and OB/GYN services in the near future,” said Henson. “We know that providing this care will make a positive difference in the lives of everyone in the North Henry community.”
“We are delighted to partner with the Piedmont organization in order to advance healthcare services in the Fairview region. This is a high growth region and the need continues to increase,” said Greg Daniel, CEO of Nidus Development.
