American Legion Post 330 in Hampton held its annual Veterans Day program on November 11 at the Catherine S. Williams Center. The center is located at 14 Old Griffin Road in Hampton. The event was hosted by the post Commander Heraldo McFarlane with guest speaker Mayor Steve Hutchison. Hutchison, a retired Air Force Veteran himself, spoke about the importance of those who have served.
The event also celebrated the opening of the new home for American Legion Post 330. Their honored guest was the Gold Star family of Jeremy P. Faulkner, after whom the post is named. A Gold Star family is one who has lost a family member in active combat for this nation. Other honored guests that were present included District 4 American Legion Commander Danny Powell, City Manager Alex Cohilas and board member Stephanie Bodie.
