The Henry County Board of Commissioners recognized the month of November as National American Indian Heritage Month with a proclamation at the regular Commission meeting. National American Indian Heritage Month is recognized in Henry County to raise awareness on the contributions American Indians had and continue to have on America’s traditions and legacy.
The proclamation reads, “WHEREAS, The contributions of American Indians have enhanced the freedom, prosperity and greatness of America today…their customs and tradition are respected and celebrated as part of a rich legacy throughout the United States.” Members of the Andrew McBride Chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution were on hand to accept the proclamation on behalf of American Indians.
