John Bobby Stephens
Mr. John Bobby Stephens, age 88, of McDonough, Ga., passed away November 14, 2018. Mr. Stephens was born in Morrow, Ga., the son of the late Fanny Eunice Crumbley Stephens and John Homer Stephens. Mr. Stephens served his country in the US Army during the Korean War. He was a member of First Baptist Church of McDonough and the McDonough Masonic Lodge for 60 years. He was one of the first vendors with the Geranium Festival when it started and had a booth for 25 years with his woodwork. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, the mountains, bird watching, yard sales and trout fishing. He was preceded in death by a sister, Allene Moseley.
Survivors are his wife of 65 years, Mae Carreker Stephens of McDonough; children, Karen and James Cook, Mark Stephens, Lisa and John Burnette; grandchildren, Megan Cook Martin (Reed), John Lindsey Cook (Janie), Ethan Blake Burnette, Collin Nathaniel Burnette and Mary Isabella Burnette; great grandchildren, Eli Baylor Cook, Katie Ann Martin and Luke Douglas Martin; sisters, Mary Isabel Bowen, Christine S. Groce and Annette Easom and husband Carl; and many nieces and nephews that loved him.
The family received friends at the funeral home on Saturday, November 17, 2018 from 5-8 p.m. Funeral services were held on Sunday, November 18, 2018 at 3 p.m. in the chapel of Haisten Funeral Home with Rev.
