The Henry County Emergency Management Agency will be hosting a Preliminary Damage Assessment-Individual Assistance training on February 11, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Henry County Emergency Operations Center (EOC) located in McDonough.
When a disaster or major emergency occurs, damage assessment must be done quickly and accurately to reduce the impact on people and identify resources needed. The information provided through training enables the direction of emergency response personnel and resources to the most appropriate areas and helps identify the need for additional resources. Public works provides a valuable perspective on the infrastructure in a community.
In this course, you will acquire the knowledge, understanding and skills you need to be able to conduct rapid and effective damage assessments in order to save lives, protect property and the environment and to begin the process of recovery and mitigation.
