Georgia Power employees from the Customer Care Center kicked off Southern Week of Service with a volunteer project at Helping In His Name Ministries in Stockbridge.
Several employees from the utility’s McDonough office spent the day sorting canned goods and loading boxes to help residents in need in Henry County.
Georgia Power employees are joining alongside employees across the Southern Company- system in celebration of Southern Week of Service. Southern Company’s 29,000 employees from operating companies across the country, including more than 7,000 employees at Georgia Power, are investing their time and talents serving the communities where they live and work this week.
Since 1883, Georgia Power’s employees and retirees have worked tirelessly to improve the same communities that its customers call home. In 2018, more than 5,000 individuals from the company volunteered 143,000 hours, valued at $3.5 million across the state.
