Big D Productions and the Henry Players are about to take the community on a time warp.
The two groups recently joined forces for a “Rockin’ Through the Decades” fundraiser, set for October 3-5 at 7 p.m., each night, at the Hood Street Art Center, 136 Hood St., in McDonough. Tickets are $30 each.
The show will celebrate The Henry Players’ 29th season with live music and costumes from the 1960s to the 1980s. Attendees are encouraged to dress in their favorite period costumes representing each era.
Henry Players veteran and Big D Productions founder, Damon Bohan, has brought his award-winning theater experience to the fundraising band. Because of this, he said, he wanted to debut his band on the Henry Players’ stage, with help from musicians in the Atlanta area.
“We always partner with a non-profit organization for our shows,” said Bohan. “This means that every time we perform, we are able to make a donation to a local charity. I like to call it ‘playing with purpose.’”
Tickets are available at Damon’s Design Team, 1963 Ga. Highway 42 N., in McDonough, online at http://www.bigdfund.com or by calling 678-284-4410. Proceeds from the events will benefit The Henry Players
