The Grace Bible Class at Glen Haven Baptist Church held its annual Jubilee honoring U.S. Armed Forces veterans and first responders on Saturday July 13 with close to 200 in attendance. The gym was decorated patriotically and everyone wore red, white and blue to show their support.
The guest of honor was Chief Mark Amerman of the Henry County Police Department. “Class teacher, Pastor Emeritus and Chaplain of the HCPD, Brother Ralph Easterwood presented Chief Amerman with a framed certificate and challenge coin. In return, the Chief presented Brother Ralph with a special HCPD coin and certificate. All of the veterans and first responders in attendance were presented a Challenge Coin and a Certificate of Appreciation. Then we heard some of the old hymns and southern gospel songs. Everyone enjoyed the meal, the presentations and the Grace Bible Class Band and great singing,” said Donna Harvey.
