Stockbridge Mayor and City Council members were recent recipients of  an art donation. The City Council, made up of Mayor Anthony S. Ford, Mayor Pro Tem John Blount, Councilman Elton Alexander, Councilwoman LaKeisha Gantt, Councilwoman Neat Robinson and Councilman Alphonso Thomas, accepted  several historical paintings from Georgia State Representative Demetrius Douglas and the Chick-fil-A Store located at 3649 Highway 138 SE in Stockbridge. The 7 paintings once hung on the walls of the historic Chick-fil-A site that is currently being renovated and scheduled to be back open for business later this year. The artwork depicts historical sites in Stockbridge over the past 100 years. The City of Stockbridge will celebrate its centennial in 2020.   

“We are thankful for this special historical donation,” said Stockbridge Mayor Anthony S. Ford. “We continue to honor the rich legacy of this legendary city.” “We wanted to ensure that Stockbridge possessed these important paintings; after all, it tells the story of the great City of Stockbridge,” said Georgia State Representative Demetrius Douglas. “Our store continues to  have a community partnership with Stockbridge and we are proud of it,” said Chick-fil-A Store Operator Nathanial King.
