Cycling enthusiasts are invited to Atlanta Motor Speedway to participate in a first-ever fundraiser benefiting children in need.
The track will host the inaugural Speedway Spin on June 15. Registration is now available for a fee of $75, and those who raise $500 or more will receive a specially-designed Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta (CHOA) cycling jersey.
All proceeds from the event will go toward helping to care for patients battling various conditions and challenges at CHOA.
Festivities at the Speedway Spin will provide participants with exclusive access to AMS in a spirit of friendly competition. During the event, teams of four, as well as individuals, will have the opportunity to ride a Metric Century — which equates to 100 kilometers or roughly 62 miles.
The Speedway Spin will include loops circling the 1.5 mile oval track at AMS, which is among the oldest race tracks currently on the NASCAR schedule.
The event will also include a route around the immediate outside of the racing track on the AMS grounds. Each rider who participates as part of a team, will complete 15.5 miles of the Metric Century.
Each of the first 96 teams or individuals to raise a total of $1,000 will have their own garage bay for their bicycles. These bays are the same as those that NASCAR drivers use for racing events at AMS.
