The Locust Grove Main Street presents a Bluegrass Saturdays program each week at 6 p.m., featuring local artists. Attendees are asked to bring lawn chairs and food. For more information, call 770-957-5043.

The City of Stockbridge hosts Food Truck Tasty Tuesdays from 5:30-9:30 p.m., weekly through August, with the exception of July 4. The event includes a live DJ, unique food trucks, performances, local cuisines and children’s activities.

June 22 – The Henry County Public Library will host a Storytime event at 10 a.m. at Queen Bee Coffee Company, 58 Griffin St., in McDonough.

June 24 – the Fortson Public Library will host an MG Sprouts children’s event from noon to 1 p.m. MG Sprouts is a statewide horticulture program created by UGA Extension’s Georgia Master Gardener Program State Office for kids ages 6-8.

June 24 – the McDonough Caribbean Cultural Festival will begin at 1 p.m. at Avalon Park, 1045 Industrial Parkway in McDonough. The family-friendly event will feature a kids’ zone, live entertainment, authentic Caribbean cuisine, and more.

June 24-26 – Atlanta Motor Speedway in Hampton will host a Stunt Driving Class beginning at 7:30 a.m. Additional classes are scheduled for July 8 and July 22.

June 27 – The Henry County Board of Commissioners will host a Transportation Town-Hall Meeting from 6-7:30 p.m. in the Carriage House at Nash Farm Park, 100 Babbs Mill Road in Hampton.

July 4 – The Firecracker 5K/10K Independence Day Festival will begin at 12 noon in Hampton.

July 4 – Atlanta Motor Speedway in Hampton will host a Fr8Auctions Fireworks Extravaganza from 6-10 p.m. The event will kick off Atlanta’s summer NASCAR event for 2023. Prior to the fireworks, AMS will host a Fr8Auctions Freedom Celebration, with a car show on the grand concourse.

July 4 – Panola Mountain State Park, at 2620 Ga. Highway 155 SW in Stockbridge, will host a Sunset & Fireworks Hike from 8-10 p.m. for adults and children age 8 and above. Admission is $15 per person, and parking is $5. Late arrivals will not be able to join once the caravan departs. A maximum of 75 participants will be allowed. The park recommends participants bring water, a flashlight, and a blanket to sit on. Chairs will not be permitted. The hike to the summit can be strenuous in areas so closed-toed shoes with good tread are required. We strongly encourage guests to arrive 25 minutes prior to 8PM, as guests will then have to travel in their vehicle to the hike departure location. The cost is $15/person, Ages 8+ to ensure protection of the summit environment. Blankets are ok to bring, but chairs will not be allowed. Must call the Nature Center at 770-389-7801 to register. July 7 – Leah Belle Fraser will perform at 6 p.m. at Claude Gray Park, 99 Frances Ward Drive in Locust Grove.

July 8 – The Locust Grove Main Street program will present a free Yoga in the Park event at the Locust Grove City Park, 189 Cleveland St., at 8 a.m. The free class is open to the public and suitable for beginners as well as advanced audiences. Participants are asked to bring a mat or blanket, water, and blocks or a strap. For more information, call 770-957-5043.

July 9 – Atlanta Motor Speedway in Hampton will host the Quaker State 400 Presented by Walmart. Race week will feature two major NASCAR events, concerts, grassroots short-track racing, and more. For more information, visit www.AtlantaMotorSpeedway.com.

July 12 – The Locust Grove Public Library, at 115 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., will host the Georgia Farm Bureau for a story time children’s event at 11 a.m.

July 15 – The Locust Grove Public Library, at 115 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd, will host a Tween Science Saturday (Locust Grove Tween Event, from 11 a.m. to 12 noon. The event is designed for children ages 9-12 and will include an Egg Drop. For more information, call 678-432-5353, ext. 4.
