Henry County Farm Bureau member Jack Pringle has been named a recipient of a Georgia Foundation for Agriculture (GFA) scholarship.
Pringle, who plans to attend Georgia Southern University this fall and major in agricultural education, is one of seven students statewide selected to receive a $3,000 Scholarship for Agriculture awarded to a graduating high school senior.
Pringle has been a Locust Grove FFA member throughout high school, serving as president his senior year. As a junior, he served as the chapter elementary education chairman and was named FFA Farmer of the Year. Jack earned the Honorary State FFA degree this year, which is the highest degree offered on the state level. Upon graduation from Locust Grove High School he was also awarded the “True Blue Award.” The True Blue Award recognizes those who personify leadership, unity, belief and excel in their field. Jack was the first recipient of this award. Jack also graduates with other awards to include; National Honor Society, Ag Science Pathway Completer, AP and dual enrollment honors, CHSA 2-5A Offensive Player of The Year, HCS Student Spirit Section Winner, and HCS Student Voice Winner.
The Georgia Foundation for Agriculture scholarships recognize deserving and outstanding students pursuing an agriculture or ag-related degree at an eligible technical college or college in the University System of Georgia, Berry College or Emmanuel College.
