On Saturday, December 3, Henry County Fire Rescue conducted funeral services for the first Fire Chief of Henry County, Tom Farah. Thomas “Tom” Anthony Farah, age 87, of McDonough, Georgia passed away on Monday, November 28, 2022.
He was born on January 23, 1935 in Maxton, N.C. Tom served in the United States Navy. He also was a parishioner of St. James the Apostle Catholic Church. In 1974 he was named the first Fire Chief of Henry County.
Chief Farah was buried with full honors and was interred at the McDonough City Cemetery. Henry County Fire Rescue Honor Guard, Pipes and Drums Corps, and several off-duty personnel were in attendance, including members from Clayton and DeKalb Counties.
