Photo courtesy of True Southerners A Pictorial History of Henry County, Georgia by Gene Morris, Jr. Gene wrote, “The Weems’ Plantation House was built by Thomas Dixon Weems in 1848 and is a Henry County landmark on Hampton-Locust Grove Road. The house has been continuously occupied by this family until the present day.” Sandra Eubanks wrote, “This is the oldest plantation in Henry county and is still occupied. It was spared when Sherman’s men found out the owner was a mason. It served as a hospital during the Civil War.” Joe Turner and Mark Parker also wrote in and correctly identified the photograph.
