Community Gardens of Henry County will host its “Love and Home Grown Tomatoes” event on Saturday, June 24, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.

The combination celebration and fundraiser will be held at the community garden adjacent to Wesley Way United Methodist Church, 150 Wesley Way, off McGarity Road.

The evening will feature the CGHC’s signature tomato sandwich buffet, as well as tours of the garden, music and door prizes.

Funds raised will benefit the operation of the community garden plots as well as the Helping Harvest garden for the needy. All Helping Harvest produce is distributed to local needy families to supplement the typical canned goods available at food pantries. Over the years, CGHC has donated more than 120,000 pounds of produce locally.

Tickets are $10 each for adults and $5 for children 3 to 16 years old. Tickets will be available at the gate or may be purchased in advance at the website, communitygardensofhenrycounty.org. Tickets and information will also be available at the weekly farmer’s market held Thursdays 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Jason T. Harper Event Center, 95 Lake Dow Road.
