Johnny Carter wrote, “this is the old US Post Office in Flippen, GA. I am not sure what it was before that.” Larry Allgood wrote, “This was Roger Turner’s store and Post Office in Flippen, GA. He and his wife ran the store and Post Office, where the train would pick up the mail from a pole next to the tracks. He was my grandfather’s brother and passed away in 1965.” Wanda Bartlett McDonald, “This is the old post office in Flippen on Jodeco Road right at the train tracks. I used to go there with my mother, when I was younger. One lady handled the whole post office.”
That’s my uncle Rufus Stewart, and Ms. Luanne Lawrence.
