Catherine Eileen Frantz
Catherine Eileen Frantz, adored and extremely loved wife of Richard H. Frantz, left the bounds of earth and walked into the arms of Jesus on November 12, 2022. Eileen was born on February 26, 1935 to parents Willie Mae and John William Dalrymple who, with her brothers Bobby, Donnie and John, predeceased her. Eileen was a woman of many talents in addition to her role as adoring wife, mother and grandmother. She was an extremely accomplished artist, completing beautiful watercolor paintings that grace numerous homes in several states. She was a charter airline pilot for Westinghouse executives, and an office administrator for American Fitness. Eileen was also the conference manager for the Airport Hilton in Atlanta where she was fondly known as Mrs. Hilton. “She added class to everything she touched,” as her husband so fondly remembers. Eileen is now in Heaven with family and friends who went before her while those of us left here on Earth look forward to the day that we will see her again in Paradise.
Eileen was very proud of her family, including daughter Jeri Jesson and her daughter Taylor (Dave), daughter Valori (Greg) Gantt and her son Tre (Jenna) as well as son David Pearson and his daughters Hillary (Kyle), Hannah, Hattie and Hyatt, who all survive her and cherish the wonderful memories of their time together. She is also survived by stepdaughters Marne, Fontaine, and Cary and their spouses and children, who are ever grateful for the good times that they had with Eileen and her love for their dad and grandfather. Eileen is survived by her brother Larry as well as numerous cousins, in laws, family and friends who will also miss her smiling face.
A celebration of life service was held at Eagles Landing First Baptist Church’s Life Center in McDonough, Georgia on Monday, November 28, 2022. H.M. Patterson and Son, Arlington Chapel.

Charles “Jerry” Elrod
Charles “Jerry” Elrod, age 78, passed away on November 22, 2022. Jerry was the fifth child born to Nat and Grace Elrod of Locust Grove, Ga. Jerry was a 1962 graduate of Henry County High School in McDonough, and entered the U.S. Marines immediately after graduation. He was trained as an aircraft mechanic, and served in California, Texas, and Viet Nam in support of the Marines Phantom F4B attack jet. Upon leaving the Marines, he joined Delta Airlines in Atlanta, retiring there in 2001 after 35 years. He was married to Lurana (Randy) Stratman for 49 years, until her death in February, 2022. Jerry spent his retirement years traveling with his wife and friends from the Henry County Moose Lodge, working in his yard, and attracting and feeding birds and other wildlife to his yard in Locust Grove. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Lurana (Randy) Elrod, siblings Johnny, Nat, Jr. (Buddy), and Donald Elrod; sisters-in-law Shirley Elrod (Johnny), June Elrod (Buddy), Martha Carol Elrod (Lamar), and Judy Elrod (Harold).
He is survived by siblings Lamar Elrod of Griffin, Harold Elrod of Locust Grove, Bobby Elrod of Flovilla, Ann Elrod Copeland (Steve) of Barnsville, and Michael Elrod (Connie) of McDonough; sisters in law Janie Elrod (Donald) of McDonough and Lorrie Castle (Craig) of Naples, Florida; several nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, and great great-nieces and great great-nephews.

Thomas Anthony Farah
Thomas “Tom” Anthony Farah, age 87, of McDonough, Ga., passed away on Monday, November 28, 2022. He was born January 23, 1935 in Maxton, N.C. to the late Habby and Nellie Baddour Farah. Tom faithfully served his country in the United States Navy and was a proud and patriotic veteran. He was a parishioner of St. James the Apostle Catholic Church and was a past Grand Knight in the Knights of Columbus. Tom retired from Snapper Equipment Company and then had a career as an engineer for the Peachtree City Development Corporation laying out the City of Peachtree City. He also owned a landscaping business, was a member of the Lions Club, and enjoyed woodworking, especially building dog houses and windmill ducks. Of all things in his career he was most proud of being the first Fire Chief of Henry County in 1974. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Fred Farah, Louise Joseph, Margaret Deraney and Elizabeth Cannon.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Vicki Gasses Farah; son, Vince (Rhonda) Farah; grandchildren, Gina (Joseph) Dumas and Jacob (Elita) Farah; great-grandchildren, Evan, Levi, Peyton and Elijah.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, December 3, 2022 in the Haisten Funeral Home Chapel. Interment followed at McDonough City Cemetery with full honors from the Henry County Fire Department.
