A number of resolutions affecting various departments were approved by the Henry County Board of Commissioners at its August 16 regular meeting.

A $561,551 volume license agreement for technology services was approved. Funds are in the current year’s Technology Services budget.

According to officials, Henry County uses Microsoft software for every aspect of its IT infrastructure. Every desktop computer, server, database, network device connects through Microsoft software.

An $156,800 expenditure for software in the Transit Department was approved.

The $67,200 purchase of extended warranties for Zoll AutoPulse units, considered a crucial piece of medical equipment used by Henry County Fire Rescue, was approved. It is to be paid in three installments of $22,400. Funds are available in the Henry County Fire Rescue budget.

A bid was awarded for the annual contract for the re-certification and repair of LIDAR and RADAR speed detection devices for use by law enforcement officers. The last contract expired July 31. The new contract is for one year and may be renewed for two additional one-year periods with a unit price of $50 each.

A $51,000 bid was awarded to Georgia Umpires Association to provide umpires for adult softball games at Heritage Park. The contract is for one year with the option of two additional mutually agreed upon years. An umpire typically earns $50 per game.

A bid was awarded to E.R. Snell (with a secondary award to C.W. Matthews in the event of availability issues) for the purchase of plant mix asphalt for the Henry County Department of Transportation. It is an annual contract, with two mutually agreed upon renewals, not to exceed three years, according to a county staff report.

Jessica Stormer was reappointed to the Department of Family & Children Services for a term of 5 years, expiring August 16, 2027.
