Mercer University’s Henry Regional Academic Center honored community veterans last week by decking out their campus on Henry Parkway with over 300 flags and pinwheels with celebrations culminating on Veterans Day. Military affiliated students of Mercer were blessed with “Honored Veteran” shirts, hats, and pins. Mercer University’s Henry Regional Academic Center Director, Retired U.S. Army Lt. Col. Scott Mahone, donned his Dress Blues, while Assistant Director, Jamie Brown, dressed in her best red, white, and blue suit to greet their veteran students. This has become a treasured tradition for the university, as it is also well known for its Military Friendly, Yellow Ribbon, and Best for Vets Status, as well as being Georgia’s first Purple Heart University.
