A Louisville Kentucky woman will face charges in McDonough Ga, after The Henry County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) identified her as the woman who threatened Henry County Superior Court Chief Judge Brian Amero.
Last Wednesday, Judge Amero dismissed a lawsuit alleging fraud in Fulton County during the 2020 election. Amero has received a plethora of calls in opposition to his ruling and Sheriff Reginald B. Scandrett says on October 13, 2021 around 11:50 p.m. one of those calls came from 42-year old Kentucky resident Erin Northup. Northup made a call to Judicial Assistant Lynn Chambers and left a voicemail that contained comments that were threatening in nature to Judge Amero and his family.
Sheriff Scandrett says, “I’m all for respecting a person’s 1st amendment rights. However, when it crosses the line and it becomes minacious, it will not be tolerated. We will track you down and arrest you.”
HCSO consulted with the District Attorney’s Office on October 15, 2021. Probable cause was established and a warrant was issued under Terroristic Threats and Acts Subsection E which outlines threats against a judicial officer. After confirming Northup’s identity, HCSO contacted the Louisville Police Department who subsequently arrested Northup at her residence at 4:42pm on October, 15th.
Erin Northup is currently awaiting extradition
