Miracle Mission Hope House (MMHH) recently received a $3,000 grant from Delta Community Credit Union in support of MMHH’s “Meals ‘R’ Us” program.
“Our mission, at Miracle Mission Hope House, is to eliminate hunger, foster hope, and promote self-sufficiency for low income individuals and families in Henry and surrounding counties through the delivery of emergency relief services,” explained MMHH Executive Director Marlene Lemons. “This grant from Delta Community will enable us to offer nutritious food to an additional 100 people, and help us achieve our goal of helping clients grow physically, mentally, professionally and spiritually.”
The grant was awarded from a Special Community Fund created by Delta Community in 2020. The credit union, which has three branches in Henry County, wanted to help nonprofit organizations address new and unique needs created by the COVID-19 public health crisis.
“We knew many charities and shelters faced particularly challenging times caused by the pandemic, so we diverted funds that were originally budgeted for other projects to charitable causes that make a meaningful difference in the communities we serve,” said William Wesley, a community development representative at Delta Community Credit Union.
