Henry County District V Commissioner Bruce Holmes has partnered with 1st Responders EMS and Fairview Urgent Care to ensure access to COVID vaccinations for the community. He has also teamed up with area businesses as distribution sites to offer more convenient locations.

1st Responders EMS will be onsite at Sudo Bar and Grill every Wednesday and Sunday beginning at 5:30 p.m. Sudo is located at 1792 Panola Rd. in Ellenwood. Medical professionals will also be distributing the vaccine onsite at New Hope Cathedral Church located at 1738 Fairview Rd. across from the Fairview Library. The vaccine will be available during the food drive at the church on Thursdays beginning at 11 a.m. and Sundays at noon, directly following the service.

Fairview Urgent Care, located at 4475 West Village Parkway, is also offering the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine to all community members, ages 16 and up. Appointments are suggested and can be booked online at fairviewurgentcare.com; however, walk-ins are also welcome. The Moderna vaccine requires two doses for effectiveness; appointments for the second dose will be made at the time patients receive their first dose.

Holmes said he understands the hesitation some may have in getting vaccinated, but also recognizes how important it is for people to protect themselves from this devastating virus. He is also grateful for the partnerships of the Fairview Urgent Care and area businesses in helping to make the COVID-19 vaccine even more accessible.

“When communities unite and come together for the greater good, everyone benefits. I was really apprehensive initially regarding the vaccine; however having witnessed three individuals close to me go into comas, I decided that the benefits had to be greater than the risk of not taking the vaccine,” said Holmes. “I have been pretty blessed throughout my whole life to have had access to many things. However, realizing that this isn’t the case for everyone, I feel a great responsibility to give back, and help those who need it.”
