On Thursday, Henry County Fire Station #8 had new equipment installed to further streamline day to day operations for its personnel. A brand-new air cascade system was installed with the help of Henry County Facilities Maintenance and Municipal Emergency Services. This system, that refills the air bottles that Fire Department personnel use in conjunction with fire operations and other hazardous scenarios, was furnished through SPLOST funds.
“The cascade system allows our personnel a more rapid and efficient turnaround when getting their equipment back in service after a fire call” stated Shift Commander Michael Hicks who oversaw the project today. “Previously, our personnel would have taken empty bottles to another station to refill them or swap bottles on scene so they could be taken to a different station to refill. This system gives our folks another tool to keep up efficient operations,” Hicks also stated.
Henry County Fire Station #8 is located at 975 Jodeco Road Stockbridge, Georgia. It currently houses an Engine and Ambulance and has a response area that covers areas including Intestate 75, Jodeco Road to the Clayton County line, Flippen Road and Hudson Bridge Road. Station #8 opened at this location in 2020 after being located on Flippen road for many years.
