The Henry County Development Authority has selected Trisha Colpetzer as the economic development organization’s manager of established industry.

  “Established industry accounts for typically 70 to 80 percent of all new jobs created in a community each year,” according to F. J. “Josh” Fenn, executive director of the organization. “In Henry County, our mission as a development authority is to provide support for new companies looking to expand as well as assist our established employers to grow with us. Trisha will serve as a key contact for companies that already have a footprint in the area. Her knowledge and experiences over the past several years gives her a clear understanding of how to find solutions to issues and provide guidance and better connect our established industries with our community.”

  Colpetzer currently serves as public information officer for the City of McDonough, a position she has held since 2018. She also provides support for the mayor and council for the Henry County city, a responsibility Colpetzer has been charged with since 2016.

  As a graduate of the University of Georgia and Wright University, Colpetzer earned a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy and minored in psychology. She has been extremely active in the Henry County community over the past several years, including serving as chair of the governmental affairs committee for the Henry County Chamber of Commerce; board member for Youth Leadership Henry; board member for the Henry County Chamber of Commerce; board member for Leadership Henry; and a member of the Wheelchair Tennis Steering Committee.

  “I look forward to expanding my network of contacts with the existing industry leaders in Henry County,” says Colpetzer. “My goal is to utilize my successes at the City of McDonough to help current employers maintain their presence and expand if the opportunity presents itself. Henry County is a prime location for businesses, and I look forward to being a part of the Development Authority’s team to aid those companies where necessary.”

  Colpetzer will begin her new position with the development authority on December 28.

  Members of the development authority include chairman Pierre Clements, vice chairman David Linton, secretary David Crow, Eddie Ausband, and Irv Culpepper. Rod Meadows of Meadows, Macie & Sutton PC serves as legal counsel for the organization. Other members of the authority’s professional staff include Jamal Lewis, project manager of business development and Terry Collins, office manager.
