A Drive-Thru Health Fair will be held on Saturday, October 17 from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Alexander Park East, located at 300 Atlanta Street in McDonough.
“The importance of taking a proactive approach to health and wellness is more evident now than ever, which is why I would like to invite all residents of the City of McDonough to join us for this great event,” commented District Two Councilmember Sandra Vincent. “Take the time to find out more information about steps you can implement now to help protect you and your family for years to come.”
The Health Fair will provide educational information at no cost relative to the prevention and treatment of chronic illnesses such as diabetes, high blood pressure, and mental health. Kaiser Permanente will have a station set up to give flu shots to those who pre-register at www.research.net/r/DriveThruHealthFair. In order to ensure everything runs smoothly, participants should remain in their vehicle with the engine running and follow directions given by event volunteers.
In addition to the City of McDonough and Kaiser Permanente, partners also include Wellness Diagnostics, Humana Military, Coalition of ONE, and the VFW. “The Military and Veterans Service Organizations Coalition of ONE is honored to serve alongside the City of McDonough and other healthcare providers in providing invaluable health information and flu shots to the Henry County community at large,” stated Commander David Gilbert, of VFW Post 12180.
