Jeffrey Thomas Hall

  Coach Jeffrey Thomas Hall, age 50, passed away on September 6, 2020. He was born in Virginia on July 17, 1970. His favorite hobbies included coaching, watching and talking about football. There could never be enough football or too much. He also enjoyed watching TV and movies. His favorite shows constantly on rotation were Andy Griffith, Lion shows, King of Queens, The Office, and Gordon Ramsay shows. This is because another one of his favorite hobbies was cooking. He liked to consider himself a Masterchef. His favorite movie was Signs. He served his country for three years in the Army, and was a police officer for a total of 12 years in both Henry and Clayton Counties. He was owner/operator of Farmers Insurance/ Jeffrey Hall – Agent. He loved his family, and friends, and especially his Ola/ Cougar/ Rec football family. He was reunited with his father in Heaven Rex Hall.

  He is survived by his son, Jake Thomas Hall; daughter, Jordan Hall; wife, Michele Hall; mother, Joanna Hall; brother, Tim Hall; sister-in-law, Tracy Hall. nieces/ and great nieces and nephews Ariel Hall, Alexia, Ryan, Carsyn, Wyatt and Saylor Morris.

James Donald Busbin

  James Donald Busbin, age 85, of McDonough, Ga., passed away at his home in McDonough on Monday, September 7, 2020. He was born on March 22, 1935 in the Mt. Bethel Community of Ola, McDonough, Ga. He was the son of Berlin and Nell (Martin) Busbin. Donald was happily married to his high school sweetheart Helen Barham Busbin for 63 years until his death. He was a lifetime member of Mt. Bethel United Methodist Church, where he served as Financial Secretary, Church Treasurer, Usher, and Trustee for many years. He was a faithful behind-the-scenes worker of the Church, the Parsonage, and the Scout Building; a long-time member of the Cemetery Committee, and active member of the Men’s club until his health declined. He enjoyed playing football and was Co-Captain of the McDonough High School Team before graduating in 1953. Donald attended Georgia Institute of Technology and also the Southern Technical Institute, where he graduated in 1957, earning an Associate in Science Degree in Electronics and Communications Technology. He was employed by Southern Bell Telephone Company as an Electrical Engineer and retired from AT&T in 1991 with 35 years of excellent service. He was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America, Dixie Chapter No. 23. Donald was a Volunteer Fireman for the City of McDonough for 32 years. He was the Assistant Chief at the time of his retirement in 1990 and received a special Resolution from the ‘City of McDonough’ Mayor and Council. He and his wife, Helen were active in charity work. They delivered ‘Meals-on-Wheels’ for 20-plus years, and also worked at ‘Helping in His Name’ local food pantry for many years. They enjoyed traveling throughout all the United States, and also made numerous international trips. He enjoyed playing golf, and as a result of a trick shot, got a ‘hole-in-one’ in the beginning years of playing after his retirement. He also enjoyed spending time with family, photography, reading, and working in his yard. He was an avid Georgia Tech and Braves fan. Donald’s entire life has been centered on God, Family, Friends and Community. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his eight-month old daughter, Donna Joyce Busbin.

  He is survived by his wife Helen Busbin; daughter Melanie (Jimmy) Brown; grandson Derek (Devon) Brown; granddaughter Devan (Clint) Stovall; great-granddaughter Jane Pendley Stovall, and several nieces and nephews.

  The funeral service was held in the East Chapel of Cannon Cleveland Funeral Directors on Thursday, September 10, 2020 with Reverends Dr. John Brown and Claire Yoder officiating. Jack Elliott Teate

  Jack Elliott Teate, age 85, of McDonough, Ga., died Saturday, September 12, 2020. Jack was married to the love of his life for 65 wonderful years, He was a member of McDonough Christian Church and served proudly in our United States Air Force. Jack loved his family, especially his grandchildren; he loved playing golf, his favorite team, the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets and he enjoyed putting puzzles together. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Azalee Teate.

  He is survived by wife, Shirley Harriett Teate; sons and daughters-in-law, Dick and Pam Teate, Kevin and Susie Teate; grandchildren, Mallory Teate, Alex Teate and his wife Brittany, Kalli Teate, Griffith Teate; great-grandchildren, Maddie Teate, Wesley Teate; brother and sister-in-law, John and Ann Teate, along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.

  Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 16, 2020 at 2 p.m. at McDonough Christian Church with Scott Gregory officiating; interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Wednesday, September 16, 2020 from noon until 2 p.m. at the church.
