On Saturday, June 6, the Lake Dow Social Committee celebrated high school and college graduates with a parade in the parking lot of Pilgreen’s Steakhouse. Two subdivisions, Lake Dow North and Lake Dow Estates, joined together, decorating their vehicles and golf carts as well as dressing in costumes and holding handmade posters and banners.
As the parade procession passed by, guests heard loud cheers, car horns and cowbells across the two subdivisions. Homeowners cheered outside their homes holding banners and others took part in the parade. Some of the graduates also chose to join in the parade with golf carts decorated for the event.
Graduates had their pictures taken with a personalized Lake Dow frame and received bags containing gift cards, picture frames and other items.
The Lake Dow Community Watch Block Captains, organized by Edwin Cordero, volunteered their services by encouraging social distancing throughout the parade and ensuring the safe flow of traffic in their bright yellow vests and face masks.
