Another God-incidence

You know what a God-incidence is, don’t you? It’s a coincidence that had to be manned by God from above. I know I’ve told about my favorite one; glancing in my rear view mirror and seeing a semi doing a 180 and heading right at my 1987 Chevy Eurosport. I got out of the way just as the huge truck took over the spot where I’d been idling and waiting in traffic on I-75, in Clayton County. Well, that must have been a God-incidence; I’m so glad my daughter and I survived without being hit.

I had something interesting happen this morning. Usually I go shop at Publix during their Senior Time, and had planned on doing that Tuesday. Then, for no reason whatsoever, I told Norman we’d make a Food Depot run and grab his favorite breakfast sandwiches before they ran out, plus a few other essential products he likes too. I got back in the car with the items and then told him I’d just make a Publix run too if he didn’t mind. I took out my list once I got inside and bought all the items I’d planned on getting the next morning. We got home, scanned all my purchases, wiping them down of course, and then it was time to prepare lunch. I opened the Publix deli bread we’d been dining on for almost a week, and saw some tiny mold spots. Well, it had gone past the ‘sell by’ date on the package and I hadn’t really been watching that as I made our daily sandwiches. One of the items on my list was their WW bread (whole wheat) which we both love and it’s actually healthy too, thanks Publix! I’m so glad I made my trip a day early and found all the products we needed. There were no crowds at either store and of course I had a quick and cordial checkout experience at both places.

Earlier this year I decided to give away my collection of John Grisham novels as I downsize the Henry Hilton, but I forgot to put them in the car the last time I headed to the library.  And now, I am re-reading each one – because the library is closed for the time-being. It’s like reading them the first time since I don’t recall any of the characters, plots and especially the ending in any of my favorite author’s books too. (I am reading Gray Mountain now and it is making me shake my head over the people having to give up their jobs, the economy sinking, and the sad times that almost sound like our Coronavirus days). I guess God knew I needed to keep those books though, since my number two hangout in Henry County would be closed for a while.

I’m also relieved that God tipped me off and sent me to my talented hairdresser for an over-due cut before the shelter in place started. Whew! That was another God-incidence as far as I’m concerned. I’m not sure we should put our barbers and hairdressers at risk by showing up before this disease is defeated. I appreciate all the steps our grocery stores and drug stores are taking for our protection, and yes, theirs too. I am still praying a lot for our nation, state, county and town to return to total safety and for the cure and then vaccines for the latest American disaster. And yes, I have total faith in God getting us through this, and also in Him leading our medical angels and scientists too. Of course I’m also praying for our doctors, nurses and the rest of those who serve and protect, to get through these times safely. I always have faith and again, am thankful for my latest God-incidences!
