Roughly two weeks ago, Cannon Cleveland Funeral Directors began a drive to collect sanitizing items for first responders in Henry County.

As a result of their call to action, many local organizations stepped right up to the plate and began donating the needed supplies.

“The citizens of Henry County, small businesses and local churches have stepped up to help us raise the awareness of a need of sanitizing gels, wipes and disinfectant sprays for our first responders,” said Greg Cannon of Cannon Cleveland Funeral Directors.

Cannon implores citizens of Henry County to give back to the first responders that work 24/7 to provide the services that we utilize.

“They’re there for us every day. And now, it’s an opportunity for us to take care of them,” said Cannon.

Cannon Cleveland Funeral Directors has seen a positive response from the community so far and is greatly appreciative of the support of the public.

“We are so thankful to this community and all the people who helped us get disinfectant materials to our first responders!” said Cannon Cleveland Funeral Directors on their Facebook page.

However, Cannon states that the effort to collect the much needed supplies is still ongoing.

“It’s not over. We need your help. So, please continue to stop by, and drop off these items,” said Cannon.

Donations can be dropped off at Cannon Cleveland Funeral Directors, located at located at 2580 Hwy. 42 N. in McDonough.

For those that do not wish to get out of their vehicles, drive up to the door, honk, and an individual will meet you outside to collect the items.

Donations can be dropped off between the hours of 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
