At a recent meeting of the Andrew McBride Chapter, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR), Bob Van Dunk and Jim Dunn were presented with the DAR Distinguished Citizen Medal for their work to establish the Veterans Support Group in McDonough. “The award recognizes worthy citizens for their extraordinary service in the defense, promotion, and/or preservation of the American heritage of freedom. Nominees for the award must demonstrate the qualities of honor, service, courage, leadership and patriotism.” said Teri Grimes, Public Relations Chair for the Andrew McBride Chapter of the DAR.
“The VSG impacts the lives of hundreds of past and present service men and women in Henry County and surrounding areas,” added Grimes.
