Two very stiff prison sentences were handed down last week in Henry County Superior Court in cases of sexual offenses involving children.
District Attorney Darius Pattillo’s office announced January 30 that Joshua Stewart, 33, was sentenced to 30 years with 25 years in the state prison system after pleading guilty to charges of incest and child molestation. Stewart molested his daughter from age 4 to 10 in a Stockbridge home, according to the report. He also faces charges in Bibb and Jasper counties.

Christhopher Booream, 49, pled guilty January 30 to 11 counts of sexual exploitation of children and was sentenced to 20 years with 15 years to serve in prison.
Both of these defendants must also register as sex offenders for the rest of their lives.
The outcomes in these two cases are the result of the work of the Crimes Against Children and Domestic Violence Unit, which Pattillo began after taking office in 2017.
“This is precisely why I have been committed to expanding our Crimes Against Children Unit,” he said. “I am proud of the work this unit does and will continue to push for more prosecution and law enforcement resources to make sure our children are safe.”
Booream’s arrest was part of the statewide Internet Crimes Against Children Taskforce after he downloaded child pornography on a Tumblr account inside his Stockbridge home. The Henry County District Attorney’s Office, the Henry County Police Department and the McDonough Police Department are part of the statewide task force, which works closely with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation and National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
