On Saturday, December 7, the Andrew McBride Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution recognized fourteen high school seniors as recipients of the Good Citizen Award.
This award strives to recognize one senior student from each high school in Henry County. These students are selected by their teachers and guidance counselors because they demonstrate the qualities of a “Good Citizen” within their home, school and community to an outstanding degree. Those qualities being; dependability, service, leadership, and patriotism.
Twelve of these students participated in the optional essay portion of the award. Tori Alexander of Dutchtown High School was announced as the essay winner and was presented with a monetary award.
Those who were unable to attend include Kathryn Temple – Strong Rock Christian School, Anna Standard – Community Christian School, Shantell Ward – Creekside Christian Academy and Kristen Trice – McDonough High School.
