The holidays are in full swing in Henry County.
A plethora of opportunities are on tap for families to get into the Christmas spirit in each of its four cities.
Locust Grove will celebrate the lighting of its Christmas tree on Thanksgiving night at 6 p.m., at City Hall, 3644 Ga. Highway 42. Hampton will launch its Christmas season the same night, with a tree lighting ceremony at 7 p.m., at Depot Park.
The City of Stockbridge will present its 2019 Holiday Festival and Tree Lighting Thursday, December 5 from 5-9 p.m., at the Merle Manders Conference Center, 111 Davis Road, and Clark Park. The free event will feature holiday train rides, entertainment and food vendors, face-painting, photos with Santa and Mrs. Claus, a nativity scene, and a holiday bazaar.

McDonough will host Santa on the Square December 6, 7, 14, and 21, from 11 a.m., to 3 p.m., each day. The Main Street McDonough Program will also welcome a visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus Friday, December 6, from 4-7 p.m.
The Locust Grove Main Street Program will host Christmas in the Grove Saturday, December 7 from 10 a.m., until 3 p.m. The event will feature a parade, a downtown craft fair, free activities for children, photos with Santa, costumed characters, live performances, a petting zoo and face painting.
Hampton will continue its Christmas celebrations Saturday, December 7 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., in the form of Cookies with Mrs. Claus at the Train Depot.
Downtown Hampton will host its annual Christmas Parade Saturday, December 14 at 7 p.m.
McDonough will also host Christmas festivities Saturday, December 7, with performances on stage from 5-5:30 p.m. Those performances will be followed by comments from Mayor Billy Copeland, and the lighting of a Christmas tree on the Square. McDonough’s annual Christmas Parade will begin at 6 p.m.
