Hair-Brained Invention

Twenty-five percent of men start dealing with hair loss by their 25th birthday. Today a bald or shaved head is quite fashionable and many men are comfortable with that. Some may not be and may have tried hair plugs, wigs or the drug Minoxidil, with various results.

Now, The University of Wisconsin researchers have developed a baseball cap that can grow hair! (Not hair on the cap, on your head).

This is done by sending electrical pulses to the scalp by way of a patch that lines the inside of the cap and you do not have to plug it in. Wear it anywhere and nobody will even suspect your hair is growing.

During head movement, the cap sends gentle electric pulses to the scalp and this will stimulate natural hair growth without having to use expensive drugs like Minoxidil. The head researcher tried it on his father with favorable results. The only drawback is that it only works on recently bald men.

Research on mice without hair, a genetic trait, produced twice as much hair with the cap as with drug therapy. And there were no side effects, at least none that the mice complained about.

I wonder how they got the mice to wear the caps?
