Local AT&T employees joined a national picketing effort Monday, outside the company’s facility on Racetrack Road in McDonough, to protest current labor practices. One unnamed picketer said the group was “fighting disinformation” in support of their cause.

The Associated Press reported Monday afternoon that more than 20,000 AT&T workers in nine southern states went on strike over the weekend, claiming that the company “isn’t bargaining in good faith over a new contract.”
