Going on now through September 2, law enforcement agencies statewide are rolling out waves of enforcement patrols across all 159 Georgia counties to crack down on dangerous, aggressive and high-speed drivers in a “100 Days of Summer Heat” campaign.
The Henry County Police Department pulled data from the past six months for speeding violations alone. Henry County Officers issued 820 speeding citations to violators for speeding 90 mph or more. Of those 820 speeding violations, 129 were cited for speeds over 100 mph. The top speed was 145 mph. The majority of those violators were traveling on Interstate 75. The Henry County Police Department will participate in the “100 Days of Summer Heat” and wants to remind everyone to obey the posted speed limits.
