More prayers

I always pray for family, those ailing, our elected officials and all who serve and protect, in my morning talk with God. Lately have asked Him to heal me too, and my arm is much better. A few days ago, I was praying for the rain to pass on out of Henry County and protect my family, neighbors and my little home also. And then as I scrolled down Facebook, I saw Highway 81 East closed due to flooding near the McDonough Library! I didn’t know there was a lake in that vicinity and was shocked to see a car stalled out in all of the water on the side of the road. But, while scrolling I also saw pictures of Jesus on the cross and the blood and agony He had to endure.  Okay, I guess we don’t have it so bad after all.

I will continue to pray for the good old USA to go back to being in His house on Sunday mornings, and reading the Bible plus loving our fellow Americans totally. I had a wonderful prayer at church Easter morning and thanked Him AGAIN for our leader in the pulpit.  No sermon though as the choir’s blessing lasted twenty minutes. We did have a good children’s moment that reminded us, and the children, of how much Jesus did for us on this earth. Then I Came home and watched Dr. Charles Stanley and again felt a warmth come over me as he spoke. I had wonderful visits from my family and thanks to granddaughter Melissa’s career, I learned some more exercises for my achy limb. More prayers have been answered as I am actually beginning to regain the use of my right arm again! Now I can actually use it a little better to get on Facebook and my other morning fun But, I am still praying for peace to come over this whole world! It is so sad to hear about the bombings in churches and all the lives lost.  And then, I see ‘breaking news’ on Facebook and learn there’s been a student injured after being robbed at UGA. I called my daughter and she’d already heard from our dear that she was fine and the violence happened on the other side of the campus from her. But, still more prayers as I heard the twenty-two year old male was in surgery and in serious condition as we talked.   I wonder what the local police can do to stop the crime and make the students safer as they go to class and back. I can’t believe what’s happening in our state and world and I will keep the prayers going.

So glad I was raised in a calm era, and a safe little town too. I never saw my parents kill a single thing, except when my mom would wring a chicken’s neck … sigh. But, I still copy their method of disposing of a spider or any other bug. I keep a clear plastic cup in the living room and if I spot an intruder, I cover it with the cup, slide a big book mark under it, and take it outside to land in the grass. Hard to catch the occasional roach so I keep lots of those little traps around the house. I escorted a flying insect out the front door with my broom and so far the visiting bee hasn’t tried to sneak inside. I wish those with guns and bombs felt like letting others live and could take out their venting in a safer way. Maybe go dig a long row and plant some vegetables to share with their neighbors?    Not sure what the answer is to the violence, besides my solution … prayer.  Get closer to God, love your fellow man, and … pray, for all.
