Althea Mae Maddox

  Althea Mae Maddox, age 86, of Stockbridge, Ga., passed away peacefully on February 6, 2019.

William Benjamin Denson

  William Benjamin Denson, age 56, of Jackson, Ga., passed away February 9, 2019.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, February 13, 2019 at Hope Bible Church in Locust Grove. Pastor David Osteen officiated. Entombment followed at Sherwood Memorial Park in Jonesboro. Jennie Wilson Fears Fontaine Shultz

  Jennie Wilson Fears Fontaine Shultz passed on to everlasting life on February 28, 2019. She was born on April 4, 1924 in Athens, Ga., to Lizzie Lou Veale and Elliott Parks Fears. She was raised by her mother (“Mama Lou”) and her stepfather, Robert Carlton Downs (“Daddy Doc”). Throughout her life, Jennie lived in the areas of Athens, Atlanta, and Savannah, Ga., as well as Ormond Beach, Holly Hill, and Clermont, Fla. She loved music, dancing, White Zinfandel wine, and everything chocolate. Jennie also enjoyed painting, cross-stitch, and traveling the world with her beloved friends. She retired as a supervisor from the Life Insurance Company of Georgia. Jennie also survived polio at the age of 10 years old. Most people are lucky to find true love only once in their lifetime; she was blessed to have found it twice. She was married to Roger Arthur Fontaine, Sr. from 1942 to 1977, and she was married again to Dudley Eugene Shultz from 2007 to 2014. Jennie was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, her son, Roger Arthur Fontaine, Jr. “Skipper,” and her son-in-law, Jerry Russell Wilson. Known as “Mother,” “Granny,” and “Gigi,” she is survived by her daughter, Nancy Fontaine Wilson; her granddaughter, Ami Wilson Taharka (Antonio), and her grandson, Jason Scott Wilson. Great-grandchildren include Antonio Taharka, Jr., Freddie Taharka, Tanya Wilson, and Tyanna Wilson and a great-great-grandson, Axel Miller. Jennie is also survived by her stepsons, Bob Shultz (Cindy) and Mike Shultz (Marilyn) along with 4 step-grandchildren and 8 step-great-grandchildren.

  Memorial services will be held  on Wednesday, March 13, 2019 at 11 a.m. at McDonough Presbyterian Church. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Elsie B. Patrick

  Mrs. Elsie B. Patrick, age 90 of McDonough, Ga., passed away March 8, 2019 at Westbury Health and Rehabilitation in McDonough. A lifelong resident of Henry County, she was the widow of Ray Patrick, Jr., and daughter of Augustus H. Branan and Edna R. Branan (nee: Rodgers). Graduating from McDonough schools in 1946, Elsie worked in Atlanta for the Trust Company of Georgia for two years prior to her wedding in 1948. She and Ray enjoyed 54 years of marriage. In her spare time, Elsie enjoyed reading, word-search puzzles, traveling, canning and preserving, and working in her yard. Elsie was preceded in death by her husband Ray in 2003, her son-in-law, Grady Alexander in 2012, brothers, William (and Dot), Henry (and Louetta) and Greer (and Elizabeth) Branan, sisters, Ann (and Tom) Ellis and Mildred (and Dock) Parker, nephews Harry and Darrell Branan, niece Patty Lunsford, and in-laws, Ida Mae and Combs Taylor, Rachel and Ross Watson, Nellie and Laverne Thompson, Doyle and Ruby Patrick.

  Elsie is survived by daughter, Beverly Alexander of McDonough, and sons and daughters in law, Robin and Marilyn Patrick of Orlando, Fla., and Michael and Viv Patrick of Middletown, Virginia. She leaves behind several grandchildren and great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. 

 Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 14, 2019 at 2 p.m. in the Haisten Funeral Home Chapel. Friends may visit one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may be made in the form of flowers, which she loved, or contributions to the American Heart Association or a preferred charity.
