Warren Holder wrote, “this is the Locust Grove Municipal Building with the girl’s dorm to it’s left. The boys dorm was located to the right of the main building which has been recently re-created as the new Police building.” Lucile Tomberlin said, “this week’s picture is now the city hall of Locust Grove. This is a picture from when it was the Locust Grove Institute. It was founded in 1894 and this building was built in 1904. The school closed in 1930 and in 1936 the building became Locust Grove Elementary School of Henry County. It became City Hall in 1983. I went to school in this building from 1948 till 1951.” Brook Jackson and Mark Parker also wrote in to correctly identify the photo.
