The University of Georgia Extension Office at Heritage Park in McDonough has several opportunities for local residents to enhance their knowledge of agriculture in the coming months.

The agency, at 97 Lake Dow Road, will host a Lunch & Learn session February 12 at noon, said Frank Hancock, agriculture and natural resource agent.

“We’re going to talk about muscadines,” said Hancock. “Jerry Larson, a retired Fort Valley State University researcher, will be the speaker.”

The agency will host a Lunch & Learn on March 12 on vegetable gardening, featuring Newton County Extension agent Tedd Wynne.

Hancock added that the Henry County Master Gardener Extension Volunteers will host a Sprouts youth program in conjunction with the library system later in the year. The program will include six sessions, with dates yet to be announced.   For more information, call the Extension Office at 770-288-8421.
