Hazel Lane
Hazel Lane, age 88, of Stockbridge, Ga., passed away January 14, 2019. She was born in Decatur, Ga., to Cora Byrd Puckett Lane and Edward Sims Lane. She graduated from Southwest De-kalb High School in 1948 and retired from the Federal Reserve Bank in 1988. She was preceded in death by her brother, James Lane.
She is survived by sisters, Dororthy Lane Mitchell and Judy Scott Danner, sister-in-law Norma Lane and several nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, January 26, 2019 at 11 a.m. followed by a memorial service at noon at Stockbridge First United Methodist Church, 4863 North Henry Blvd., Stockbridge, Ga., 30281 with Rev. Andy Postell officiating. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Stockbridge First United Methodist Church, the Henry County Animal Shelter, or to the charity of your choice. A special thanks to everyone at Rockdale Healthcare for the compassionate care given to Hazel during her stay.

John Cain Black
Mr. John Cain Black, age 80, of McDonough, Ga., passed away January 19, 2019. He was born in Chattanooga, Tenn., to the late John Cain Black, Sr. and Alphisa Dorthea Alford Black. John faithfully served his country in the United States Navy during the Korean War. He owned and operated Black and Associates for 35 years and was a member of Bethany Baptist Church. He was a former deacon and Sunday school teacher and was known by many as a Godly man. He read his Bible every day and was an avid chess player.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Joyce Baker Black; children, Kevin (Kati) Black of Cumming, Karen (Carl) Grizzard of Covington and Keith (Angie) Black of Covington; grandchildren, Joshua (Katie), Ty and Brooke Black, Samantha, Spencer, Quinton, Tate and Jessica Grizzard, Kristen and Lauren Black; great grandchildren, Hunter, Cole, Khloe, Elijah, Oliver and Weston; brother, Ronny (Margie) Black of Marietta; several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 24, 2019 at 7 p.m. in the Haisten Funeral Home Chapel. Friends may visit the family Thursday from 5-7 p.m. prior to the service.
