Thanks to Lee Gardner for submitting this photo. Lee wrote, “The Burger Hut was a restaurant in Locust Grove that used to be where Z & Z Package Store is located today. Lots of memories at this place for many people.” Barbara Olinger wrote, “That is the burger hut that was in Locust Grove. Z & Z Package Store is now in that location. Mr. James Brown owned it at the time I used to go there. I remember going every Saturday with my dad to get a chicken sandwich. Jane Brown Lute (niece of former owner, James Brown) wrote, “The Burger Hut photo shows the first restaurant on the Locust Grove exit off I-75. James P. Brown, Sr. owned and operated it. It was built in or about 1970. As you can see, there was a peach orchard behind it. Years later Zack Hinton bought the building and restructured it. It is now the large liquor store that sits amongst many other businesses on the exit.” Lisa Bruce also identified the photograph.
