Mrs. Phyllis Fitzpatrick Pardue, age 71,of McDonough, Ga., passed away October 30, 2018. Phyllis was born in Athens, Ga. She worked for the Henry County Board of Education for 32 years, she received her Master4-H National Dress Review, and attended the University of Georgia and Young Harris. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends and her animals. She was preceded in death by her father, William Herschel Fitzpatrick. Survivors are her husband of 51 years, Larry Pardue of McDonough; daughter and son-in-law, Lorie and Jack Powers of Douglasville; grandson, Logan Powers of Douglasville; mother, Ruth Kaplan of Dalton; sister and brother-in-law,Priscilla and Kerry Holmes of Dalton; and nephew, Kyle Davis of Atlanta. The family received friends at the chapel of Haisten Funeral Home in McDonough on Saturday, November 3, 2018 from 3-4 p.m. A memorial service followed at 4 p.m.in the chapel. Linda Kay Roach, age 70, of McDonough died Thursday, November 1, 2018. She was born in Lincoln, Nebr., to the late Finis and Betty Shea Leigh. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, David Leigh and Michael Leigh. Mrs. Roach is survived by her husband, William (Bill) Roach; son,Michael Frain, of Lincoln, Nebr.; siblings, Dennis Leigh, of Lincoln, Nebr.,Patty and Gerald Frain, of Lincoln, Nebr., Mary Leigh, of Lincoln, Nebr.; and sister-in-law, Cindy and Rob Harrell, of Brunswick, Ga. Funeral Services were held on Wednesday, November 7, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at St. James the Apostle Catholic Church with Fr. Liam Coyne officiating. Interment followed at Honey Creek Woodlands. Thelma Jean Knight – Heaven gained another Angel. Thelma Jean Knight (formally Thelma Jean Banks) of Locust Grove, Ga., passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 27, 2018 at the age of 78. Jean was a loving wife, Mother, Grandmother, and Aunt. Jean was born on March 23, 1940 in Wrigley, Kentucky to Harlan and Christine Banks. Jean and Jerry previously resided in Medway, Ohio for an extensive number of years. They were the previous owners of LG Bottle Shop located in Locust Grove, Ga., where Jean was involved in the local community and developed a great rapport with many. Jean was a devoted wife over the years and instrumental in raising their children through her loving and caring nature. She was very family oriented in all that she did. Jean is survived by her husband, Gerald (Jerry) S. Knight, children Ronald G. Hammond (Sue),Michael D. Knight (Cheri), Barry K. Knight (Tammy), and Karen S. Harper. She is survived by brothers Tommy Banks (Nancy), Steve Banks (Lori) of Lexington,S.C., and sister Roseann Seibert (Tim) of Dayton, Ohio. Grandchildren include James Knight and Mark Knight of McDonough, Ga., along with numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 10, 2018 at 11 a.m.at Herald, Stewart, and Halsey Funeral Home in West Liberty, Ky. Reverend James Knight will officiate.
