Republican Women offering scholarship

From Staff Reports

Scholarship applications and requirements are due by May 25 at noon for high-school senior girls to seek a scholarship from the Republican Women of Henry County (RWHC).

All senior girls in Henry County are eligible to apply for the scholarship, whether they are in public school, private school or homeschool.

The Republican Women group will host its Fourth Annual Fundraiser Fashion Show and Luncheon May 27 in the Carriage House at Nash Farms Carriage House in Hampton. RWHC is part of the Georgia Federation of Republican Women who are celebrating their 60th anniversary this year. They are also part of the National Federation of Republican Women.

The scholarship is one of the projects that the fundraiser helps to support. The organization also collects funds and sponsors for the Nationwide Dictionary Project, which seeks to provide dictionaries for third-graders in Henry County. RWHC is in its 12th year of supporting this program, in which participants visit schools and give history lessons for the children, explaining all of the knowledge contained in the Dictionary Program.
