Clarence C. Powell
Clarence C. Powell, a resident of Webb, Alabama died Monday morning, February 20, 2017, at his home. He was 69.
Celebration of Life Services will be held at 1 p.m., Sunday, May 7, 2017 in the Emmanuel Baptist Church, McDonough, Georgia. Holman-Headland Mortuary & Cremations, Headland. Ala. is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Powell was born in Chickamauga, Georgia, son of the late Walter Herman Powell and Rosie Lee Manning Powell. He was retired as the owner and operator of Powell Wrecker Service in Atlanta.
Surviving relatives include his wife, Patsy Nesmith Powell; two daughters, Shawna Lynn Powell, Texas; and Stacy Knowles (Preston), Webb, Al.; three sons, Scott Powell (Teresa) and Joseph Powell (Kelly), all of Atlanta; and Marty Rowell (Teresa), Marianna, Fla.; a sister, May Montgomery, Atlanta; a brother, Avery Powell (Joyce), Jackson, Ga.; five grandchildren, Abigail, Cameron, Madison, Cody and Maddie; a great-grandson, Corbin.

Leonard Steven Newman
Leonard Steven Newman, age 64, of McDonough, Ga., died Thursday April 20, 2017, He was born in Harriman, Tenn., to the late Leonard Kenneth and Hope Rosales Newman. Steve served in the Army for 10 years and was a proud Vietnam Veteran. After his service he worked as a HVAC Engineer for Turner Broadcasting for 28 years. In his spare time he enjoyed woodworking, collecting coins, guns, and antiques. He was a prankster and practical jokester and was always good for a laugh. He had a special talent for always finding a deal at yard sales. Most important to him was time with his family, especially his grandson whom he loved dearly.
Steve is survived by his wife of 37 years, Deborah Stephens Newman; children, Stephanie Lynn Newman Marquez (Andrew), of McDonough, Samantha Leigh Newman, of Fayetteville, Leonard Justin Newman, of McDonough; grandson, Leonard Wake Newman, of Gainesville, Ga.; siblings, Linda Newman, of Jonesboro, William Newman, of San Antonio, Tex., and Ruby Wittnebell, of San Antonio, Tex.; plus many more family, friends, and loved ones.

Barbara L. Ulveling
Barbara L. Ulveling, 86, of Stockbridge, Ga., died Saturday April 22, 2017. She was born in St. Anne Ill., to the late Fred and Helen Miles. Barbara became a Christian at age 12. She loved the Lord. He was first place in her heart. Being in choirs and singing was a joy to her. She began to sing solos at age five. Mrs. Ulveling was a secretary for twenty-six years, serving in Christian and public schools. Barbara lived in Illinois for 42 years before moving to Georgia in 1972. Barbara and Chuck were high school sweethearts and married October 14, 1950. Family was very important to Barbara. She was grateful for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was especially happy when she could be with family, friends, and at church. Mrs. Ulveling was a member of Salem Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sisters, Lena Sexton and Opal Kaske; granddaughter, Julia Sue Bailey; and great-grandson, Colton
