Awesome Blossom Spring Fest
The 2nd annual Awesome Blossom Spring Fest will be held on the campus of Bethel UMC in Stockbridge on Saturday, May 6 from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. They are currently looking for vendors who wish to sell their arts and craft wares at the event. Attendees can look forward to local and regional arts and crafters, live entertainment, children’s activities, an antique auto exhibit and lots of food. Struggling Readers Program
The community is invited to attend a program on Struggling Readers on Thursday, March 16 from 6-7:45 p.m. at the Fairview Public Library. The event is free and open to the public. Is your student really struggling with reading? When should you start worrying, and what should you do? These are some of the questions they will address at the program. Outreach attendees will learn the signs of a struggling reader at different ages and which curriculum components need to be present to help correct the problems. Master Gardeners taking applications for scholarship
The Henry County Master Gardeners are currently accepting applications for their annual scholarship in the amount of $1,000. They encourage Henry County seniors who are considering college in the following areas to apply: Horticulture, Landscaping, Farming, Agriculture and Agriculture Business. Visit the Henry County Master Gardener website at ugaextension.org and click on the scholarship link to access the application. The application deadline is Friday, April 14.
