CERT Training classes beginning in April

The Henry County Office of Emergency Management is preparing to offer its free Community Emergency Response Team courses for the public.

The free six-week course will kick off April 4 from 6:30-830 p.m., at the Henry County Emergency Operations Center, 526 Industrial Boulevard in McDonough. The program includes academic and hands-on instruction in the following areas: emergency preparedness; fire safety; emergency medical operations; light search and rescue; CERT Team organization; Incident Command System; disaster psychology; terrorism; course review and simulated disaster exercise.

Training is open to people ages 18 and older.
