African American Heritage Celebration

The 6th Annual African American Heritage Celebration will be held on Saturday, February 11 at 4 p.m. at Red Oak United Methodist Church, 3894 Walt Stephens Road in Stock-bridge.

This year’s theme is “Celebrating the Young, Gifted and Black” as they recognize the achievements of their youth following their passions and pursuing their dreams. The guest speaker will be Isaac Newton Farris, Jr., nephew of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

They will also recognize individuals who are doing exceptional work to change or impact the Stockbridge community with significant contributions to community residents through special projects, deeds and actions.

As always, this is a free community event, open to all. The event is hosted by Alphonso Thomas, President Stockbridge Civic Association and Former Mayor Pro Tem, City of Stockbridge.
