Henry police officer recognized for safety efforts

Henry County Police Officer George Colbert recently received kudos for helping to keep the area safe.
Marine Corps League Detachment 1339, also known as the Henry County Leathernecks, honored Colbert with a Certificate of Distinguished Service on Dec. 21. Commandant Duane Hiers, along with Police Chief Keith Nichols, presented Colbert with the certificate for helping to promote safety and traffic control during the Nov. Veteran’s Day Beirut Memorial 5K run.

Colbert works in the police department’s Motors Unit. In the commendation, Hiers praised Colbert for his efforts during the event.
“The actions of Officer Colbert on that day brings great credit not only to the Henry County Police Department and the Henry County Leatherneck Detachment 1339, but the entire United States Marine Corps and United States Naval Service,” said Hiers.
