Malina Beddington Vandiver
Malina Beddington Vandiver of Peachtree City, Ga., passed away on October 10, 2016. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a homemaker who enjoyed spending time with her grandkids. She was born in Chamblee, Ga., on January 18, 1953 to the late Guy and Mary Beddington. She was preceded in death by a sister, Elizabeth Biles.
She is survived by Jerry Vandiver her loving husband of 46 yrs. Daughter Linda (Roger) Poore of McDonough, Ga.; son Ray (Heather) Vandiver of Stockbridge, Ga. five grandchildren; Amber Mormon, Lee Jay Poore, Gavin Poore, Peyton Davis, and Jarrett Vandiver and one great grandchild; Keaton Davis. Two sisters; Brenda DeGiorgio of Peachtree City, Ga., and Marilyn Willingham of Peachtree City, Ga. Two brothers; Reggie (Annette) Bedding-ton La Follette, Tenn. and Gerald Beddington of East Point, Ga. Several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Dorothy Steele Combs
Mrs. Dorothy Steele Combs, age 96, of Concord, Ga., passed away Thursday, October 20, 2016 at Westbury Medical Care Home. She was born on Sunday, July 11, 1920 in Los Angeles, Calif. to the late Morton C. Steele and the late Myrtle Morris Steele. Mrs. Combs was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loved square dancing, flowers, sewing, the outdoors and nature. Not one to be idle, Mrs. Combs was always doing things for other people. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Hugh English and Quigg Hollingsworth, and siblings, Robert Steele, Frances Carter, and Charles Steele.
Mrs. Combs is survived by her daughter, Vivian Palmer and husband, Ralph, of Concord; granddaughters, Chanda Steele and husband, Wayne, of Concord, Ga.; April Rush and husband, Mike, of Greensboro, Ga.; grandson, Tyki Palmer and wife, Teresa, of Ft. Pierce, Fla.; great-grandchildren, Summer Steele, Carter Steele, Brett Parker, Spencer Rush; sisters, Margaret Waller, Jo Ann Meaders, Jean Williams and husband, Roy; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; and husband, Oliver B. Combs.
Funeral services for Mrs. Dorothy Combs were held on Saturday, October 22, 2016 at 2 p.m. at Sherrell Memorial Chapel with Reverend Jim Pitts officiating. Interment followed in Fairview Memorial Gardens. The family received friends at the funeral home on Saturday from noon until the hour of service. Alice Virginia Benefield
Mrs. Alice Virginia “Jean” Benefield, age 67 of Locust Grove, Ga. passed away October 23, 2016. She was born in Milledgeville, Ga., to the late Rufus Edwin and Colene Gentry Nelson. She was an active member of the Locust Grove First Baptist Church where she sang in the choir. She was a Boy Scout volunteer and a Silver Beaver recipient, a former business owner, a para-professional, a chiropractor assistant and embodied the true definition of a caregiver for her family. She was a firefighter’s wife for thirty years. Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Duane Arnold “Papa Bear” Benefield in 2011.
Survivors include her children, Jessica Anne Benefield-Smith, David Andrew Benefield, Adam Nelson (Kimberly) Benefield; grandchildren, Samantha, Sahara and Bryan Benefield, Rex Benefield-Smith and Douglas Smith; siblings, Rufus E. “Buddy” Nelson, Jr. (Betty), Marion E. “Bo” Nelson (Elaine), Judith A. “Rusti” Nelson and Zane P. Nelson (Rhonda).
Funeral services will be held Friday, October 28, 2016 at 11 a.m. at Locust Grove First Baptist Church. with Rev. Kenny Heath officiating. Interment at Locust Grove Cemetery. Mack Sanders, age 65 of McDonough, Ga., died Sunday October 23, 2016, He was born in Hawkinsville, Ga., to the late Joseph Albert Sanders and Myrtle Elizabeth McWhorter. Mack was a member of McDonough Presbyterian Church. He was a very passionate person. He worked his whole life in residential and commercial construction. Mack was self-taught in painting and playing the guitar. His passions were learning new skills and hobbies. He also enjoyed traveling.
Mr. Sanders is survived by his wife of 15 years, Dee Ann Sanders of McDonough, Ga.; children: Michael Sanders, Daniel Sanders, Joshua Sanders, Joshua Sanders, Morgan Sanders, Amanda Sanders, Jessica Sanders, Stephanie Sanders, Isaac (Kimberly) Turner, Grady (Megan) Turner; siblings: James (Linda) Sanders, JoBeth (Don) Flannigan and several grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held on October 26, 2016 at 4 p.m. at Cannon Cleveland Funeral Directors with Rev. Dr. Olin McBride officiating.
